OCA have received recognition for their highly crafted approach to design developed through a close dialogue with clients and collaborators, and were recently awarded the title of Scottish Architectural Practice of the year 2020.

From a starting point designing furniture such as Bed Box, the studio has expanded its expertise into various building types and now works with large scale clients including Scottish Canals, housing associations and various community and arts organisations, but still approaches each project as an opportunity to explore new themes regardless of scale. A strong team ethic, methodical approach to design and sense of enjoyment are central to the studio’s exceptional track record.

From our base in the centre of Edinburgh’s old town, close to the university, the team have developed a network of international links with other individuals and practices with whom we regularly collaborate.

OCA Studio signed up to declare our commitment responding the climate and biodiversity emergency at Architects Declare. We are working to mitigate the climate breakdown, as well as to collaborate with our clients on a path to a net zero carbon future.

OCA Studio is an employee owned RIBA Chartered Practice with both RIAS Sustainable Architecture and Passivhaus accredited professionals in its team.
