Martin Lambie

Director

BArch(Hons) DipArch ARB SEDA

With a proven record of running projects ranging from home renovations to multimillion-pound public buildings, Martin has two decades of experience at award-winning practices, on a broad range of cultural, community, university, education, residential and commercial projects.

Martin is currently leading our North Sutherland Health and Social Care Hub project in Tongue; a 15-bed care home with GP surgery and community nurse base to be operated by NHS Highland. He recently oversaw the £4m second phase of Galeri arts centre in Caernarfon, which won an RIBA Welsh Architecture Award, and Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries, a major extension to the world’s first Carnegie Library and winner of the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award.

His work with social-enterprise Arkitrek on innovative community-build projects in Malaysia helped to cement a passion for sustainable architecture, where he worked with teams of local and international volunteers and witnessed first-hand the effects of habitat loss and climate change. He is a Certified Passivhaus Designer, a member of SEDA, has worked on many BREEAM-assessed projects and has completed courses on net-zero and circular design run by TU Delft.

He teaches part-time at ESALA (Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture) at the University of Edinburgh.
