Seath House
Easter Auchtar, Perthshire
This private house in Perthshire is influenced by the vernacular architecture of the area and is designed to sit into and take advantage of the surrounding landscape.
The strong form of the pitched roof and cropped eaves is complimented with a pre-patinated grey zinc cladding to the upper section while the ground floor will be clad in dressed larch with a stain coating. This cladding extends across the front of the garage helping the base of the building integrate with its natural context of grass, shrubs and beech hedge.
Glazing will be framed in thermally broken aluminium sections powder coat painted dark grey so that glass and its fames appear as gaps or voids between the adjacent solid areas of timber or zinc.
