The Courier Building

Haddington

Oliver Chapman Architects was commissioned by Whiteadder developments to design new offices for East Lothian Housing Association within a Grade B listed building, formerly the East Lothian Courier offices and press.

The proposals involve a 3 storey fit-out to cater for approximately 60 staff, facilities include a new reception, boardroom, tenant meeting rooms, and office space for 5 different departments.
Design development has involved close consulation with East Lothian Housing Association, with feedback from all members of staff, to ensure a pleasant and tailored working enviroment.

The design includes staff welfare facilites incorporated along key circulation routes to promote sociability. A ‘light’ approach has been taken to alterations to retain the building’s original character and features within the office space.
