RIAS Conservation Accreditation
/ Jan 11, 2011OCA Associate Director, Mark Cousins, has been accorded the title of Conservation Accredited Architect by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS). The assessors agreed that Mark was able to demonstrate the full range of competencies including examples of detailing, specification writing and evidence of real hands-on involvement.
The award reflects his extensive 25 year experience in working with historic buildings (often grade A-listed) as well as his considered approach in designing contemporary architectural interventions.

Schop signs up with the University of Edinburgh
/ Jan 10, 2011OCA's sister organisation Schop has developed an 'Architecture Insight' learning programme with the University of Edinburgh as part of its 'Pathways to the Professions' programme aimed at widening participation.
Starting in February the first event will offer building visits and other activites based on gaining an understanding of the architectural profession to local state school students, particularly those who are first generation to consider higher education.
