    Sustainable technology in Duns

    Sustainable technology in Duns

    / Jan 27, 2010

Bore holes are being dug for our new housing project in Duns but rather than laying out long coils horizontally, each of the twelve two bedroom flats in this development for Berwickshire Housing Association, has an 80 metre deep vertical borehole so that heat can be recovered from the ground.

This project demonstartes that ground source heat pumps are not just appropriate for houses on rural plots with large gardens. Even though these plots are quite small for these affordable houses, ground source heat pump technology can still be used.
