Visit from RIBA President
/ Dec 17, 2008Following breakfast at the Scottish Parliament, Sunand Prasad, current President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, visited the office to learn about the practice and discuss pertinent matters relating to the future of the profession.
The RIBA will soon celebrate its 175th anniversary but remains focused on its 1834 pledge to secure "...the advancement of civil architecture and for promoting and facilitating the acquirement of the knowledge of the various arts and sciences connected therewith..."

Defining Authenticity
/ Dec 4, 2008OCA Associate Director, Mark Cousins, was invited to address the recent symposium on 'Defining Authenticity: the Edinburgh World Heritage Site', which was held at the Stills Gallery, Edinburgh.
Organised by James White, other speakers included Adam Wilkinson (Director of the Edinburgh World Heritage), James Simpson (Vice-President ICOMOS-UK), John Lowrey (Architectural Historian at the University of Edinburgh) and Ruxandra-Iulia Stoica (Conservation Tutor at the Edinburgh College of Art).
