Grigor Mitchell qualified as an architect in 1999. The majority of his professional career has been spent working in Edinburgh, where he has also worked for several other major practices and led the Edinburgh office of Dyer Associates between 2007 and 2009. His prior experience also includes two years spent in Graz, Austria, and a year out placement in Germany where he worked with Daniel Libeskind in Berlin. He collaborates with OCA on certain projects.
Grigor became a certified Passivhaus Designer in 2010 and has been involved in the design and delivery of a number of low energy houses and certified Passivhaus projects throughout Scotland. These skills are also being applied through his role in a Government funded research project with Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen, which aims to develop and build a ‘market ready’ Passivhaus with a major housebuilder.
He has been instrumental in the implementation of Revit BIM software in the practice, which is used on all major commissions.
