Oliver established the practice in 1997 having worked previously at Richard Murphy Architects (Edinburgh), MacCormac Jamieson Pritchard (London) and Max Rieder Architektur (Vienna).

Oliver combines practice with teaching Architecture at the University of Edinburgh and Urban Design at the School of Planning, Heriot Watt University. He is also a board member of Art in Partnership and has recently completed training in BREEAM Sustainable Design Assessment methodology. Oliver also has the role of Sustainable Design Lead Designer and brings a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience in this field to all projects in the practice. He has considerable experience designing in the care and health, public building and residential sectors, developing projects which have garnered a number of awards for the practice.
